ok girls i hav black hair but i want to get rid of it but i dont want to bleach it cuz they told me that it damages your hair wat color should i dye it that would get rid of the black i tried light brown but it didnt come out it came out dark so please help i need advice but my color skin is medium so it needs to be a color that looks nice with me.

Sorry to tell you, but in order to lighten black hair you will have to use some amount of bleach on it. No hair dye without bleach will lighten hair that dark (trust me, I know.) The best thing I could suggest if you want a lighter effect with minimal damage would be to get dark brown or cinnamon highlights to soften the color and make it appear a bit lighter. This way only certain strands of hair will need to be bleached, as opposed to your entire head. Also, if you stick to darker highlights (like the chocolate brown) less bleach will need to be used than if you were to get say, caramel or blonde highlights.

I Think You Should Do A Light Brown.
Just Mix A Little White Dye With Brown Dye.

You jsut learned the hard way that you can't take off black without bleach. Use bleach but take the pro kind @ your neighborhood drugstore. And mix with 20 vol. peroxide, equal parts, it should be way softer on your hair that if you use the boxed bleach as it contains 40% peroxide volume

If I were you I would get sandy brown but if that dosen't work out try getting highligts but you are right not to get your hair bleached that could mess up your hair for life.But,if those to things I suggested don't work out get braids.

since your hair is so dark, i would go get it done in a salon because they know what they're doing and what color they should do. even doing some highlights would look pretty.

Maybe some highlights... Be careful about dying cause it may turn out icky.

well since you have really dark try re-dying only this time make it dirty blonde not to blonde but enogh brunnet well hope it looks good ;)
