If it is not Dandruff, than it might possibly be a skin disease called Psoriasis, which is basically like dandruff, but you get bigger flakes, and sometimes you may get it on other parts of your body. If so, than there are many treatments that you can take. One is using Coal Tar shampoo, another, if you have the condition on your body is to go to your Dermatolagist and ask for a pill called Methotrexate which gets rid of the problem within a months time. Remember if you do have psoriasis, it is not cureable, it can come back.

Try using some sort of hot oil. Massage it into your scalp. The oil will help to moisturize the dry areas of your scalp that are causing the flakes.

try rubbing a paste of 1/2 cup baking soda and 2Tablespoons water into your scalp. then dont use shampoo or conditioner for 2 weeks. just rub the paste, sit for 15 minutes and rinse. (careful not to get it in your eyes!!). after 2 weeks, go to cvs and buy Neutar CoalTar Extract shampoo. or visit the hospital's pharmacy. theyll give you a kind of pine and coal tar mix to use.

try head and shoulders, and do not over wash your hair as this will cause dryness. once a week give yourself a head oil massage, use olive , coconut or almond oil. keep over night, or wash out within a few hours , not only will this help the dryness, but also sooth your head, and relax you.

It's not your hair; it's your scalp. It's called dandruff, and there are shampoos for it. Head and Shoulders is one, and there are other, more expensive ones.
