If I don't want to use armature or super glue (say in attending a paper hat to a head in a paper clay figurine), how can i make the hat stay firmly attached to head? Do i score it as i do for earthenware?

I'm wanting to start out in wood carving. I was wondering what tools to buy? I was thinking something like a cutting knife and some palm tools, but I don't really know which ones. I am into making small objects like wooden necklaces (such as this...http://exquisitedreams.com/catalog/images/SW-007.jpg). Something that will have grooves, quite curvy.
Also if you can recommend what type of wood to use that'd be great, I'd prefer it to be something not too dark and easy to handle, but not something that'd be really weak.
Thanks a lot!

I would love to sculpt life sized human heads using Fimo. I'll be using plant pots as the structure and then moulding the Fimo around it just so that I dont need to use tonnes of it. I need to know if its possible if I can put the ceramic pots in the oven when its time to cook the Fimo? Also, once i've cooked it is it possible to use acrylic paint on it?

Okay, I'm planning on getting a new golf set because I outgrew my current one. I was wondering if anyone knows what set I should get or what clubs I should get. I'm not planning on spending more than $350. By the way, i'm thirteen but planning on getting a set that will last me a while.

Thanks
