I love sculpting, though I don't get to do it too often. What kind of clay would you recommend for a hard, smooth finish?

The statue is of a man, in sort of a blind stagger arms stretch out before him. I think it is in a business park/capus or possibly a government buildings campus.

You know those decorative pieces of art that enable people to put pictures inside of a piece of glass usually in the shape of a square. Thanks

Would encasing/sealing the thing in something non smelly (e.g. acrylic spray or paint) work?. I'm worried about health cuz tiny particles get on you and into your nose.

Truthfully, I figure it's my kreative kin who can help me with this one. Most folks think traditionally, and answer that to keep moisture out of our walls, follow Lowe's mold killing and renovating instructions.
Nah, I've got moderate alleriges in just six months' living here, and I want to do something WAY more original.
So, please hit me with your best, not quite-too-expensive wall ideas!
And tell me how to texturize them, make them opaque if need be, whatever you think will spice it up!
Thank you so much!

I am a very avid fan of Chihuly's work. I have a skylight and would like to install about 6 or 7 medium to large glass colored flowers into it- very similar to the work that Chihuly did for the Bellagio. I understand that it is expensive and even more difficult to have it done in a timely matter. Does anyone know any quality glass artists who do similar work?

This is a question for anyone who knows anything about using a pottery wheel. Tell me anything you can about the pottery wheel. My specific questions are

What is it about the spinning that helps create a bowl?

What happens if you let go of the pot while it is on the wheel?

Is more effective to make the pot on a wheel than on a table? and why

I live in the Naperville-Aurora area, are there any places in which I could go to blow some glass? I'm thinking of doing this with my gfriend, and I'm wondering if there are any glass blowing places in the Naperville-Aurora area.

Or anywhere in the Chicagoland region for that matter...

I need simple dyes for my epoxy castings but I live in Hawaii so shipping is like 20 bucks for a 1 oz bottle. Is this something you can find in a general arts and crafts store and what exactly am I looking for (casting dyes are uncommon and too specific)?
