Hey Hesham,

You can make earthen ware or greenware depends on what you want.

Greenware is the molded clay body that has been removed from the mold and before it has been fired. It is unfired clay.

Pottery Clay is a combination of earth elements used for all ceramics and pottery.

The pottery of ancient Greece is one of the most tangible and iconic elements of ancient Greek art. The colorful vases and pots of the ancient Greeks have survived in large numbers and are today highly prized as collectors items.

All of these techniques are applicable to dishes or mugs. You will need to either have a kiln, or access to a kiln. If you go to your local ceramics shops they can help you. They normally have classes, and what you learn with are what you produce - in your case dishes.

one of the best books available for clay technique is "Hands in Clay" this book is available on Amazon. It shows step by step the methods of working with clay. This includes coil, slab, pinch and wheel throwing. Two local colleges here use this as their required text for ceramics.
