Hey Jaclin,

I see why you asked in your next posting just for Sculptors, eventually, we get to look at your question.

I work with easy, soft mediums, sometimes clay, but not much. Here are some sites that you can use to help answer your question. William Nutt is a good site! The sub page on Carving starts "Carving rock sculpture is a difficult and time consuming. Here I will give a brief outline of the process I use. This is meant to..." anyway, I think you will like that.

As far as bonding stone to interior, look at a fireplace made of stone. The methods of putting a stone fireplace in or tile will be similar to what you are looking for. Unless you mean color, texture, or design - then that is your eye/mind.

i dont really know what you mean by bonding scuplture to decor but it sounds like something i thought of once. i was going to take clay and mush it on the wall an scuplt from there makeing it look like a gargoyle was comeing out of the wall . i was just going to get a block or (blocks) of clay an push it on the wall until it was a gradual build an just sit there an sculpt it out. i dont think it would work it the object was very protruding though as the clays adheration may not be able to support alot of weight though.

Nah, I prefer to write poetry and am working on a novel. I also enjoy photography, cooking and occasional attempts at drawing. Sculpture is very hard. I did two projects in a sculpting class. Never again, I'd prefer courses in archaeology, photography and travel journalism, maybe even German or Japanese.
