I always look at magnum's site and wonder how they setup the camera. Can anyone tell me what you notice apparent with this photos ie contrast, white balance, iso, etc etc etc Also if you feel there is any apparent filter being used. I know with black and white there are some filters but unfamilar with what they do so if you think there is an apparent filter being used, can you please explain how it may work.

Thanks!

I've got some pictures from my brother that look awesome!! They are dark except for these bands of lights all over the place. I've tried to duplicate it in a dark room with a flashlight but it doesn't look right. Think of those pictures you see of streets at night full of cars, where all the headlights and taillights extend and blur. I can't post them to this question, but I could email examples to you. I know they didn't use any software because they aren't in a place where computers can be used. I do know my brother has a Canon digital camera, but that's about it. I asked him how he did it and he said he's "Magic". Please email me and I'll send you some pictures so you can hopefully tell me how it did it!! Thanks so much.

It featured little boys and little girls in romanitc type displays. The boy would give the girl a rose and the rose was tinted red but the rest was still black and white. I want to download some of these pics from the internet but cannot find them anywhere!!! Any one have a clue?

Do you remember that show "The Wonder Years", on in the 80s and 90s? You remember the introduction with the Joe Cocker cover of "With a Little Help From My Friends"??

I am curious what type of camera and film I would need in order to shoot stills of the same quality as that home movie footage in the beginning of that show.

Also, I would be curious to know what type of home movie camera that might have been as well (but mainly interested in taking still photos with that late 60s / early 70s vibe).

Do you know where I can buy these supplies on the net or learn more about this?

Thanks!!

I was curious as to when you use ISO coding stickers to trick your camera into thinking it is a different ISO than what your using how you work it out to where say
Your using 400 but want to make it out to be 1600. If you put the stickers on will it automatically make it a 1600 ISO?
I don't know if I'm making sense.
I want my 400 ISO film to work as a 1600 or 3200 would.
Here is a site I found that kinda shows how the codes are designed.
Does this make sense to anyone?

I'm very interested in furthering my studies in photography. I plan on making a career into the photo biz. I've been taking some courses at the local community college (Mt. San Antonio, CA). I was told of a "Brookes Institute" which i checked up online. It looks impressive but i've also heard from others that their friends that attended felt it was a huge waste of money and time. Of course this is all hear say, but its still nice to hear others' opinions. Which is why im asking if you happen to have any recommendations?

I had some pictures copied on to film that i took.
I asked the clerk as the pictures were being printed, "Why is there no feature to add a coywrite to these images that I took?'
He told me "just because you take the picture does mean you can copywrite it"
he went on to tell me that I had to be a ligitimate business in order to copywrite an certain image.

I am sorry but I feel that if I take a picture with my camera that image belongs to me. If someone tries to use that image to make money for themselves and doesn't pay me a royalty I am going to sue them.

Am I wrong to think this or is the CVS clerk right?
Please shed some light on this confusing topic.

Thank you
David

Months ago I was working on a project for school where I needed to make a collage of b&w photos. I used the poster-store website art.com for many of them, including this one: http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/6397/girlbikeum7.png

Now that I want to buy a poster of it, since it matches my new room decor perfectly, I regret not bookmarking the page. I've been trying to find it for a few hours now, but still haven't seen it. Does anyone have any idea what the photo is called, or where specifically on art.com or perhaps allposters I could find it? Thanks :)
