If you referring to Michelangelo's painting "The Creation" on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, the short version is that God, whose hand is full of life, is about to touch Adam's, which is limp and lifeless, and therby transfer life into Adam. Immediatly behind God is Eve, who will soon be created and placed on Earth as well.
