what are the subjects that help contemporary art to sell successfully these days?
For example, I could paint a beautiful picture of a horse, but there are probably lots of people doing this already and its not neccessarlily catching the buyers imagination. How do you get inspiration for original work?

It's in all the textbooks, but can't remember it. If you aren't positive what picture I'm referring to, you could provide a link to a good medieval paintings site... Thanks.

I need to know how to properly assemble my dual action Crescendo 175T. The trigger and trigger lever are either too loose, or wont move at all. If I adjust it to where I can get the trigger to move, the needle itself still doesn't move.

I was at the National Gallery of Ireland in Dublin a few weeks ago, and a painting really caught my eye. I didn't have pen or paper on me, so I didn't write down who painted it. It's definitely called 'Self Portrait', and it is a picture of just a young man. It was one of the first paintings I saw, coming out of one of the two cloakrooms. It was on the same floor as the cloakrooms. Later, I wrote down that 'John Sleator' or 'John Sleador' had painted it, so the name of the artist must be something like that. This is really a longshot, but does anyone know what painting I'm trying to find? Thanks!

I came across an Armenian artist called Martiros Saryan (aka Martyros Sarian) when I was in the south of France. He was a contemporary of Picasso, with whom he worked briefly during his Cubist period. However, I have been looking for over a couple of years now, on the web (inlcuding Google and I've even been to various Russian and Armenian sites, none of which I could decipher!), in bookshops, back at the museum in Antibes where I first saw his beautiful works... and have found no more than two of his later oil and pastel works for sale anywhere. It is his earlier, 'Comptes des Fees' watercolour pieces I am searching for. Please can someone tell me where I can get a variety of reproductions of his work?

I think I found out who the Mona Lisa really is and have photographic proof to back it up, but i'm not sure about who to tell or who even cares?! I finished a book about it and i'm pretty sure I have one of the most complelling theories yet, but I dont know who I should release the information to or how to get my findings heard. Any advice? Or is there anything that knows anything about the paintings on my web site and can give an alternative explanation as to why a painting of Salai (Da Vinci's lover) matches up perfectly with the Mona Lisa? Check out my site itsjustlife.com for pictures...

As part of my degree I have decided to compare and contrast the effect of mental illness of a small number of well known artists. Do you know of any artists which have produced work which has been heavily influenced by their state of mind, and why. Thankyou in advance for your time.
