I have a opportunity to buy a painting/wall mural of the world trade center with the hudson river and the circle line boat in the painting. The painting measures about 8feet long X 6 feet high..Cold this be worth a good amount of money or not..It was painted in 1984 and was right next to a window that the trade centers could be seen from..Painted by a local NYC artist, signed and dated

i don't purchase art for it's potential value or as an investment. if it moves me, and inspires me, or invokes a feeling that i want/need to ponder, then i know it was destined to come home with me. i don't think you can assess value simply by the subject matter alone, because anyone could do such a subject. i strongly urge you to search your heart, and discover whether it moves you enough to join your collection. if so, it was fate, and if it skyrockets in value, it was meant to be. if it maintains or loses it's monetary value, it served a priceless emotional one for your imagination, so it was worth the investment. to me, there is no other way to purchase art. good luck!

It could be worth a good amount of money depending on the artist that painted it!

What is it worth to YOU? Art is an investment in spirit, humanity, and community as well as a financial investment. If the work speaks to you, buy it!
