The nails are hammered in at different depths. Use nails with different size heads. Some are painted to make a flower on 1 head, others use several heads to make 1 flower.

Is there an Internet website I can order them from and have them sent? Most of the ones available here are unattractive or else, the store doesn't carry them. I could order them, but I don't get to see what I'm ordering. I hate the staff at Chapter's, who will try to get me to purchase a set, or will order a set, when I only want one copy or certain ones.

It's also on the cover of _Matisse Art Activity Pack_: http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/081181310X/ref=sib_dp_pt/102-9811954-5227338
which undoubtedly says the name of the work on its inside cover or back cover. But I don't have that book. :-(

Bonus if you happen to know where I can buy a print of this work.

I have no idea what it means. I'm just the dumb artist who painted it when I was drunk yesterday.

Seriously, I'm curious as to how you see it?

(And I wasn't drunk.)

I can't seem to find much information! All I know is its part of a series about seasons, and its made up off fruit and vegetables. Here's the painting: http://www.illumin.co.uk/svank/biog/arcim/summer.html if you haven't seen it before. I need to know the context in which it was painted in, and different techniques used.

I am a painter and I like to glue linen on wood to paint on. Is it a good method to glue linen on wood? I want my paintings to be preserved properly in the long run, can the glue damage the painted surface for some reason? What do you think of this method? I like to paint small paintings and I like the hard surface the wood provides this way.

I was looking at this site: http://www.overstockart.com and I noticed that they sell oil paintings and not prints, I thought that's cool, but how can you tell between a print on canvas and a handmade oil painting like the ones that are sold in http://www.overstockart.com?
