It depends on what kind of bright yellow. If it is pure yellow then you could try using contrasting trim of an equal intensity, and opposite yellow on the color scale, like a green. Or you could put up shutters, if you don't already have them, and a let a color specialist help you with a color that would tone down or make the yellow more livable. If that's too expensive or doesn't suit the house, then what about putting up zinc window boxes and putting in blue and white flowers, and do the trim of the house in a white. Do a lot of planting of evergreens and semi-evegreens around the house, and divert the eye with some brown brick paths and some architectural features, like arched gates or walls with roses rambling up.
We often pick the color we think we like but aren't told that it will look a shade brighter and so we should pick one shade paler than we think we want when we paint.
Re-painting everything would be difficult, so do garden diversions and trim. Pick a color you could live with with the yellow for contrast, like a strong brown or a soft white. And then pant lots of trees, willlows in front, and evergreens against the house, and brown brick walkways and loads of flowers, but use blue and white ones to help tone things down.
Live with it a while longer, and you might like it again, and gets an artistic friends's advice, one who can see it and see proportions of house to yard and so on. Good luck.

Buy colored gels for outside accent lights, and wash the house with a complementary hue. The absurdity of this is without lights (at night) no one would notice how brightly yellow it is, and in daylight, the effect of the accent lights is nil. Sorry...no inexpensive way. Repainting is only answer. Or moving.

You should go for a complementary color. Since purple might not be to your taste I suggest a lavender blue or blue with purple tones. Also you could break it with some duller yellow

paint your lawn purple? LOL...cute.....I think short of washing it with bleach...and letting the sun fade it...you will have to repaint...one coat with a slightly lighter shade of yellow.

Paint the trim red, then it will resemble a hotdog with mustard and catsup.
