It was suggested to me that I wet it and stretch it on a board, but I am afraid of the damage. It was also suggested that I steam iron it on a board, but I have tried it twice and it doesn't help. Would I be better off using watercolour boards instead?

I am going to paint a painting of our dog for my mom for christmas. I took some cute pictures which i will base the painting on, but i dont know which picture to use. One of the pictures i really love, my dog's mouth is wide open and smiling, and he looks really beautiful in the pic. But my mom saw that pic and she commented on how my dog looked weird with his mouth open and didn't seem to like it as much as the other one. The other pic was just a side view of my dog and not very interesting and looks more difficult to paint well. As an artist, i am more inspired by the one that I like, and i really want to paint it but i also dont want to paint something that she won't like as much. Which one should i paint; her favorite or my favorite???

I mean come on, don't you think its a bit overrated? So maybe you can't tell if she's frowning or smiling. Big deal. I'm sure there have been other of the millions of paintings that have achieved that same effect, or something even better. There are so many paintings out there that in my opinion are better than this one, so I don't know why it is so special. Also, she isn't even very appealing to look at...

I have never been a fan of religious art, new age art or fantasy art, at least not as a vehicle for true substance in our current society, so what is it that can touch the viewer and inspire thought approaching enlightenment ? Is this possible? Is it enough to paint something truely beautiful? Is it merely the artists style that can bring the observer to awarness or is it the content??

I am using stencils of Chinese symbols to design a gift, but I wasn't sure what colors I should and should not use. I am definitely using red and gold, but I wasn't sure if I could use white. I vaguely remember hearing that white should never be used in Chinese art, but I could have misinterpreted it.

There used to be a German painter on PBS, who was called the "anti-Bob ross" by a comedian. I can't remember the painter's name or the comedian's name. I am in search of video clips of the painter and the comedian doing the sketch about him AND Bob Ross. Does anyone know where to find these? Thanks.

I've got several names that would fit this painting I finished several days ago but thought if would be fun to see what you could come up with, what perspective you might have, what you see in the work?

So, if your title fits, I'll use it. Here is the link.
