For hundreds of years this one painting has intrigued millions and millions of people, including me. I want to hear feed back from others about it.

The thing about her possibly being pregnant, and possibly having an affair with Da Vinci, fascinates me. Maybe he has a secret child somewhere? :) Just a thought, but it's possibly.

"Researchers using three-dimensional technology to study the "Mona Lisa" say the woman depicted in Leonardo da Vinci's 16th century masterpiece was either pregnant or had recently given birth when she sat for the painting.

"Thanks to laser scanning, we were able to uncover the very fine gauze veil Mona Lisa was wearing on her dress. This was something typical for either soon-to-be or new mothers at the time," Michel Menu, research director of the French Museums' Center for Research and Restoration, said Wednesday on LCI television."

Mona Lisa has no eyebrows because of the indisputable fact that became an indication of upperclass-easily NO facial hair; they even plucked the hair line returned somewhat because of the fact a typical hair line appeared to neanderthal. Mona Lisa isn't a self-portrait of Leonardo its only his type of portray...in case you be responsive to anyone who creates artwork-look ask them to entice a face and you will in all likelihood see a resemblance between that face and the artist's. it only proves that the final type is the artist themselves. yet another clarification why Mona Lisa is so trendy is by means of the fact Leonardo only unquestionably complete 7-8 artwork and, sure, he did carry Mano Lisa around.

I never have seen the original which certainly would be more spectacular than the prints but as far as subject matter I don't see the big deal it seems pretty simple one woman's portrait

yes, it's a classic masterpiece by Da Vinci. beautiful painting though subject matter may not be. it is said left side of her face bigger than right to represent male/female metaphor (blade v. chalice).

personally Ive never seen what the big deal is; there are certainly better more interesting portraits from that same period!! it's just a painting of a smirking lady...so who cares????????????????/
