get frustrated with the amount of people trying to get us to do their school assignments in this forum?

It seems that the questions here are so overrun with questions that are clearly assignments and questions that have been asked and answered hundreds of times (how do I become an actor, get an agent, etc. - which people can simply look up to see the past answers) that real questions about theatre and acting sometimes get left unanswered because they get lost in the sea of inane questions.

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Romeo and Juliet is a play written by William Shakespeare. The play is a tale of two lovers named Romeo and Juilet. At the end, they died due to the love they shared and the hatred both families had for one another.

My girlfriend says something can only be considered a musical if there is a stage version of the play whereas I think that that musical only needs to have songs sung by the characters and that the songs have to move the plot forward. Does anyone have different ideas of what defines a musical?

I have just gotten the role of Grandma in the play Little Red Riding Hood and the Power Mutants for the high school production. In April we're going to be performing in our States drama festival. I am very excited, but the only flaw is that speaking in my "grandma" voice makes my throat hurt and feel a little hoarse later. Before we perform, we always have numerous rehersals, and I always have nightmares that by the time we perform my throat will be cracked.

This is the first time I have gotten a major role, and I do not want to give it up. Is there any tea I can drink in April, to keep my voice strong and clear? Or anything I can do?

Is Act4 Scene1 (Court Scene) in Merchant of Venice the most dramatic Scene in the play?
What do you think???
Is it because Antonio is nearly put to death!
Or Portia and Nerissa save Antonio!
Or is it because Shylock wants to get revenge and he nearly gets there but Portia ruins it!

I just want peoples veiws on the scene
Thanks

I'm trying out for musical theater at my school and i have to sing two songs. I was given "can't help lovin dat man" from showboat as a required song, and i have to pick a song of my choice, but it has to be a song that has been in a broadway show. I'm an alto, so i dont really want anything too too high, and preferably something upbeat...but im up for anything!!! any ideas?

I am an actress, and at the age of 14 I am not sure what exactly to aim for as far as getting an agent. So far I have done 10 plays, and one commercial. I know about all of the big agencies, but since I am still a begginer I obviously have to wait until I have more experience before I even think about sending to those. I was thinking about talent plus (a local agancy) and Osbrink Agency. What do you think and do you know of any agancies that specialize in representing children/teens?

Having a specific location rules out a lot of people being able to help, I'm afriad, but I'm hanging out in Arizona for a while. I have looked and looked on-line to no avail for acting lessons, acting classes, drama school, whatever I can think of to call it, but in Spanish. I speak Spanish. I'm not looking to learn Spanish. I am looking for some kind of acting classes/lessons/school where they do it in Spanish, or even a community theatre group that operates in Spanish. Anyone?

I suppose there's a chance that anyone out there might know of something that could give me a lead, even if you aren't familiar with Arizona.

I appreciate the help! Thanks in advance.
