get frustrated with the amount of people trying to get us to do their school assignments in this forum?

It seems that the questions here are so overrun with questions that are clearly assignments and questions that have been asked and answered hundreds of times (how do I become an actor, get an agent, etc. - which people can simply look up to see the past answers) that real questions about theatre and acting sometimes get left unanswered because they get lost in the sea of inane questions.

I do get frustrated about the assignments and a bit annoyed and disappointed that they don't want to read the plays and discover the answers for themselves.

I also don't understand why the same questions are being constantly asked. When you type in your question, it will give you a listing of similar questions and you can easily read the other answers. But more surprising to me is not that the questions are being asked over and over, but people keep answering them.

I think the main reason I get frustrated is that when I see thought-provoking, interesting, or "real" questions on here... they often go unanswered, or get very few responses, while these other questions often get quite a few answers.

The other thing that gets to me (and sorry for the rant) is that the people who want to become actors don't want to do any work. They could go through and read the previous answers to similar questions that they're asking. They could read the plays themselves. They could find their own monologues. They could research on their own to find agencies or answers to the questions they ask. Just as we had to do before we had internet and forums. But they don't. They want everything the easy way. They want to become famous and not have to put in the hard work.

Successful actors DO work. And they work very hard. It is NOT an easy profession. And I very much believe that resourcefulness is a quality that an actor must have. I think it's fine to ask questions (that haven't been answered already multiple times a day), but not okay to ask others to do the work for you.

It isn't that I get frustrated as much as disappointed that people refuse to take the time to actually read the plays and discover the answers to their questions themselves.

As far as the "How do I become an actor...agent and Disney auditions.." I just keep in mind that these are probably very young children posting the questions. Most grown adults know the "How to..." answers. These kids are just looking for a starting point or have a dream to one day be an actor. I choose to not answer those questions unless I think it is a parent posting the question.

This forum does take a little more time to sift through because of all of those questions, but occasionally you do get people with real legitimate questions for acting tips, or technical theatre or searching for a script.

I wish Yahoo would do a Top 10 most asked questions in each category. That way all the Disney channel and Hannah Montana questions (not that there is anything wrong with those) would have a Best answer the person could refer to.

I've noticed there are many questions which are clearly school assignments which I for one will not answer since that would be no different than enabling students to cheat in class which defeats the whole purpose of going to school in the first place.

They only ever want to know about Romeo and Juliet or Macbeth, too. It's the same over in Painting. Three billion identical questions a day about whether Leonardo was gay and what was so special about the Mona Lisa.

I guess we have finally reached a standardized curriculum across the nation. :D

Sorry.... but for me i really like to answer that "what you could an assignments for kids"..... well aside that we can give them our ideas and what we have learned from our school and also our experiences in our school and help them..... and they could be mold as better one in school.

you may say that some kids are more lazy now a days.... well sorry this is our world now the COMPUTERS.... if in our years we asked our moms and dads and also the elders.... now kids ask on like this the yahoo answers... because they know we can help them as professionals and intellectual beings that they know we already had that in our past years....

Thank you and God bless..

I think homework questions or help should be outlawed and suspect violators reported. Why yahoo promotes 'cheating' beats me.
