Well, it depends on if you would like it new or used. A new student model alto saxophone will run you around $600.00. You will be able to find a used student model alto saxophone for about half that price and maybe even lower at your local pawn shop. Brands to consider: a Yamaha YAS-23, Bundy by Selmer, or maybe even a Vito by Leblanc. I would not advise buying a student soprano sax because one they aren't very common to find and two it will be a waste of money. You might as well purchase an Intermediate soprano by Selmer or Yamaha. Its worth it because of the challenges that come with playing the soprano sax.
