I suppose it is in the eye of the beholder. He really throws himself into his roles, that's for sure. He also wisely only takes roles he is physically and verbally suited for which works well for him.

Most method actors give me a pain b/c they are so arrogant and pompous about their "style" but if Stallone is method acting, then he has escaped this flaw b/c he seems to be a likable person, well-grounded in reality.

It really is impossible to compare actors and determine who is the better actor. Stallone is very effective in what he does.
If he is a method actor, I have not heard. Method acting is a fraud that Strasberg created out of his misunderstanding of Stanislavski. John Garfield was not really a method actor, Strasberg took credit for him, as he did for Brando and many others who were good actors before they ever met Strasberg.
YOu can read of Garfield's rejection of the method in Acting withour Agony by Richardson, and Brando's rejection of Strasberg in Brando's biography.

I don't think you could put Stallone in the same sentence with Marlon Brando, Montgomery Clift, and John Garfield.

Lol, I read the question and quite honestly burst out laughing. No offense and I mean that sincerely but this has to be a set up question right? Either way it took me off guard and gave me quite a laugh and for that I thank you...
