At the end of his life, Darwin admitted that his own theory was probably untrue. The one who made it up in the first place knew he had been lying his whole life.

I think Science and religion can stregthen each other, for example, Evolution theory and creation theory can go hand in hand. While Christian accounts give the outline of how God created the world, science tells exactly how it was done.

"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind" - Albert Einstein.

A couple of people I know have said to me that when you apologise to somebody you should not end the apology with 'but'.

e.g. "Sorry I shouted at you but you were getting on my nerves".

I'm eager to unearth the ethic that underpins this maxim. If you feel that the other person must bare some responsibility for your actions, how ought one to frame ones apology?

I am trying to answer review questions for my final exam in philosophy. I am terrible at this subject but its a core class I have to have.. Our exam is over nietzsche beyond good and evil. our test is monday and we have about 50 questions to answer and I can't even comprehend this book. I don't think I have ever read anything quite confusing before. I hate to inconvience anyone but is there someone who would not mind helping me?? i have looked on the internet for resources for each section but I can't find any. I got the cliff notes but they aren't helping because they only do a summary over each chapter and there are questions that the summary doesn't cover. Gosh I am freaking out. This is so difficult for me. Please someone help me in any way. I suck at this subject

when they don't even know what a proposition, syllogism, or fallacy is? Strictly speaking, how can a person philosophize without knowing the basic and elementary knowledge of logic? Most yap about Descartes, Kant, epistemology, existentialism, etc. without the slightest knowledge about how, for example, are arguments in ordinary language can be reduced to syllogisms.

I doubt nobody can answer my question. Only those who know and are on the same wavelength with me are genuine philosophers.

Truth stood on one side and ease on the other , it has often been so" - Theodore Parker
okay , so lemme get this straight , i come out of my cosy warm blanket and become brutally self honest , in other words , i start facing everything that needs to be faced .
after getting monumentous amounts of excruciating pain , what is that ONE thing , that will make it all worthwhile .
just tell me the name of that thing. thank you
