If some Ideas(call them 1st order ideas) arise in the mind to refer to physical objects existing external to the mind, are there 2nd order ideas (or concepts) that refer, not to external objects(& events), but to the 1st order ideas about those external objects? Would you call the 1st order kind "a posteriori empirical ideas" and the 2nd order kind "a priori transcendent (=non-empirical) ideas." 1st order ideas are verifiable by empirical means and are tested for correspndence, while 2nd order ideas are not. 2nd order ideas are tested for coherence and logical consistency and other explanatory attibutes like simplicity and comprehensiveness ,etc.

A question for the Men I need your opinions?
Ok, from my experiences with guys. Exactly every guy that I've talked to or been with comes back every time I ended with them. Would you say it's because I'm the one that leaves first or I don't know. I need your opinion

An overview of myself in a relationship: I am usually very loving and caring. And I try to be supportive as much as I can, but I am also very fun to talk to and it is easy for me to understand guys. I've been told before that I think like a guy. For some reason, guys think that they can take my kindness for weakness (silly guys). But they've come to found that I don't take no **** from anyone and I always stand my ground no matter what (which is the reason why I never go back to old relationship). I haven't had that many relation ship with guys (I can count in one hand). I've only been sexually involved with two (only had sex once with both: woudn't call it a sexual experience). So Men, Why do they come back?

Today the world is a big hectic place and often in all the chaos we get caught up in our own lifes and we forget to appreciate the simpler things in life(take time to smell the roses). This is not a question but rather a request please write something you did to help someone the best answer will go to the person who can write that he or she in the chaos of life took the time to help someone even though they had nothing to gain from it.

I've never used this particular section of Y/A . So I'm curious as to just how serious are the responses . Well , only one way to find out huh ?!

The following is a deep song written by Roger Waters of Pink Floyd . Waters is well-known for his deep lyrics and insight . . . at least from his perspective .
Here are the lyrics to 'The Final Cut' . But I would also suggest linking to the song in order to listen to it as well as you offer your thoughts on its meaning .

The Final Cut (Waters)

Through the fish-eyed lens of tear stained eyes
I can barely define the shape of this moment in time
And far from flying high in clear blue skies
I'm spiraling down to the hole in the ground where I hide.

If you negotiate the minefield in the drive
And beat the dogs and cheat the cold electronic eyes
And if you make it past the shotgun in the hall,
Dial the combination, open the priesthole
And if I'm in I'll tell you what's behind the wall.

There's a kid who had a big hallucination
Making love to girls in magazines.
He wonders if you're sleeping with your new found faith.
Could anybody love him
Or is it just a crazy dream?

And if I show you my dark side
Will you still hold me tonight?
And if I open my heart to you
And show you my weak side
What would you do?
Would you sell your story to Rolling Stone?
Would you take the children away
And leave me alone?
And smile in reassurance
As you whisper down the phone?
Would you send me packing?
Or would you take me home?

Thought I oughta bare my naked feelings,
Thought I oughta tear the curtain down.
I held the blade in trembling hands
Prepared to make it but just then the phone rang
I never had the nerve to make the final cut.

I'm not trying to strike up some hateful argument. This is just curiosity.

I'm just wondering about those monks/priests/nuns/etc. who devote their entire life (or even die for it) to an unseen being. For example, they won't get married, have children, or live like a normal person with any of the luxuries life can give. And I'm not just talking about cars or money, but that they can't even have romantic love for instance or wear a nice dress?

What if after death it's just that - death? Nothingness. Wouldn't it be better they enjoyed life rather than waste it like that?

People come and go, we live now and be gone after some years, nd be gone, and new one comes and be gone after some year. We face all aspects of life, we eat, enjoy, fail, get sick, get well, fail and triumph and die. What we do? with all this passing time and all be gone?

We chat for what? What is there in life? What is the real meaning of life? Some say to enjoy, others say to be remembered, some say to contribute to the future of mankind. Yes those are all good reasons to live but all will pass away. Great man made things ended, even great men ends. There were people who lived here 300, 500, 700 and so years ago, they were our forefathers and who are they? they loughed, cried got angry and and felt what we feel but all gone, just like us. After 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 years who will know us? Just like them we were all long gone. Tell me what is the real essence of life. How can we get into the real essence.

Tell us so we may have a truely meaningful life.

Thanks

Since the predominant factor in all religions is;

If I follow a set of defined(devine) rules I will get the opportunity to live forever.

This suggests the meaning of life is simply to live forever.

When you are 'living for ever' then your life will effectively become meaningless by the same standards.

Is this too far in the future for most people to comprehend or does anybody have any thoughts on this?
