I think the major factor is our ability to deceive ourselves so that often we don't even consciously know what motivates us to do the things we do.

Human beings may thing they're most unpredictable but thats not the case.. we're probably the most predictable beings on the planet. We know exactly what others are up to, maybe not too detail enough but we know something is cooking up on the other side of the wall. Even animals can sense our intensions. If you want to look into the future of humankind then look at the past...those things in the past are most likely to happen again....it's human nature... and the irony of all this is everyone thinks they're mysterious which is totally absurd.

Human beings tend to be the most unpredictable because they could be of different character. A humane man will not needlessly inflict pain upon the meanest thing that lives. A merciful man is disposed to withold or mitigate the suffering even of the guilty. The compassionate man sympathizes with and desires to relieve actual suffering. It is a diverse character of a human being. Indeed what we think of humans will also be the opposite. They are very unpredictable that human beings as they are may turn to be barbarous, brutal, cruel, fierce, ferocious, merciless, pitiless, ruthless, savage, selfish, unmerciful and unpitying.
Interesting question. Have a great day!

If you put yourself in a situation of unpredictability and then find that it's completely possible to accept it, then you become an observer. Most of the time we under estimate others attitudes . It all happens because of Expectations . Usually we expect something, from wrong bunch of people and when we don't get it , we consider human beings are unpredictable.

We human beings, by the very nature of things, are the most unpredictable. We are endowed with reason. And reason begets options. We're beset with innumerable set of options, a choice as to what we prefer to be at our own peril. We chart a course then change our minds in the process. History is replete with examples on why the course of events had gone wrong. And it won't be a "mistake" to relive that sad episode because of man's fickleness. Man's gift we call freedom of choice, unless handled in a wrong way, has invariably resulted in unpredictability as a human being.

Its in our nature to be unpredicatble. Ever since that first germ took the first step away from fission as a means of reproduction and took up DNA mixing, well its become anybody's game. nobody knows what the outcome will be. We are the products of our gonads playing dice. If the unpredicted outcome survives then it will tend to reproduce itself.
Our specie's personality has been shaped mainy by that.
Of coure, some refinements have since come into the play. Take for example, instinctive behavior. We are not hard-wired for it as much as other of earth's creatures. Much of our behavior is learned in contrast to the automatic resposnes of animals that often times know what to do (birds flying south for instance) without being taught by another.

Human beings are intelligent and the only life form which is capable of doing "mistakes". No other living beiings are capable of either committing mistakes or committing sins.
Human beigs do not have a scientific principle governing them which is causal connection or the knowledge of cause effect relations to make prediction possible.
There is no blue print for the operations of human mind, no mattter how hard the neuoro scientist tries.
and, unpredictability is the result.

Because we have the largest repertoire of behaviour and are the least conditioned by instinct. Because humans have the most options, they are the least predictable. That said, most of us are pretty predictable!

To the contrary, human behavior is quite predictable. Truly observe, and you will see this everywhere.

because we are not robots whose each n every step can be predicted..The very fact that we are "human" points to our innate "unpredictability"..
