I have to do a comparaison between Plato and Socrates for class. I also have to review Plato's republic. I would like some info. What ate their seperate views and definitions of justice. What can we conclude from the republic?

Pretty simple.

Socrates is a genius, Plato is an idiot.

Socrates believes we can know nothing for certain. Which makes him a genius.

Plato believed that government, which exists for the sake of family men, should exclude from it's membership - you guessed it, family men. Which makes him an idiot.

Oh, sorry,it makes him the poor reflection of a perfect heavenly idiot.

Plato's definition of justice can be summed up in one word-harmony. Justice is harmony of the soul or harmony of the state (i.e. republic).
