Today the world is a big hectic place and often in all the chaos we get caught up in our own lifes and we forget to appreciate the simpler things in life(take time to smell the roses). This is not a question but rather a request please write something you did to help someone the best answer will go to the person who can write that he or she in the chaos of life took the time to help someone even though they had nothing to gain from it.

I don't know if it counts, but if I go out to the shops at night I always buy a chocolate bar just in case I see a homeless person. I give them money too (I have enough, they don't..), but I imagine they would spend it either on drugs they couldn't afford or just the bare basics of life. So if I give them chocolate as well they can have a little luxury for the night :)

I guess I took most time with various things for my family or my partner. But they have done the same (and more) for me so I feel it would be rather awful to catalogue what I have done... A couple of years ago I thought on the way to work oh no a poor cat has been hit by a car and is on the side of the road. Then it lifted its head and meowed ,one of its eyes was actually hanging out. I went home (didn't have a cell phone then) and called various animal help places who said mainly they COULD get out there late PERHAPS so rather than go to work and leave it lying in pain in the sun all day, I rang a good friend who has a REALLY busy life, and she came and we took it to the vet.I was late for work and of course they took money out for that but so what..... So really SHE was the great person here, and every time we are with others I tell that story...I have been accused even on here of caring more for animals than people, which is not strictly true, but we are suppiosed to be their guardians, and a better species, doesn't often seem that way...... take care.

i try to help when i can and i know that people around me act as if they were too in a rush to help a woman with a stroller in the stairs or blind people crossing the roads. ok, and this is going to sound selfish, but i helped my self, this summer, took the greatest holiday ever, and just hiked at my pace around northern europe. i had almost forgotten chaos existed, until i got back here...

I stayed up at night to watch over my friend who was dying. This allowed his family to get their rest at night. I did this unselfishly, but I received more back from my gesture than I gave. The bond between this man and his family and myself is now unbreakable. When they asked me to the gravesite at his service, I was honored.
