I really dont see too much purpose in life, its just so simple. Life is absolutely pointless, yet people still wander around looking for false hope. I dont understand, then again, I am stoned off my ***. : )

Mine would be either to fly or to heal others. First one feels kinda selfish, latter one feels selfless.

In the end I would choose to be able to heal others, and travel to different hospitals the world over.

If Nature and God are both amazing and unique lifegiving entities, what should I devote my energies to? And don't tell me "both" - pick one and give me the rational, logical pragmatic explantion. Thanks.

i have read alot on it but this is what it seems like it concludes:

you CAN show reality is actualy there and other minds exist through analogy, logic, and the philosophy of language. but we can never prove that its there on the grounds of emperical evidence.

and can never truly know its nature whatsoever because we are trapped within our subjectivity. we can never determin its objectivity because we all experience it through our individual perceptions

am i right?

Basically the quote it talking about The Enlightenment or human progress and how humans now only have their mind and reason to work with, not religion or superstition, and how scary it is that there is no objectivity anymore. From what I can remember the author uses the word "terrifying" to describe his feelings. Anyone know the author and/or quote? Or even a possible author?

There are some instances when a person strives their whole life to make the world a better place and then at the end realize they have done great harm instead. Is it more important what they intended or what the actual results are? How do we evaluate our lives when we have a shift of perception late in the game?

Is this keeping the human race from getting rid of crime, etc. (reaching utopia)

Why do people keep on going if they already know that they won't be contributing to human progression?...and that they are diluting the earths resources? Should "survival of the fittest" be applied to humans as well?

If you have a good and fulfilled life then you will be able to answer this question, if you don’t then please imagine that you do to be able to answer this question.

You have a good life, you have a great job, good health, the love of your life, etc. Life is good to you.

Now imagine you take a trip to a foreign country where famine and pestilence prevail. Where the policies of one bad government after another have placed the country deeper and deeper into the hole and as such people are starving and suffering.

Next you travel to another country where a natural disasters has levelled massive sections of the cities, millions dead and millions more homeless. Everyone who is alive is suffering from disease brought by the millions of unburied corpses still stuck in the rubble of the cities and the famine that comes from a massive collapse of the infrastructure network.

Now you travel back to your home, your great home and your great job, the love of your life, and everything that you left safely there before your travels.

Do you feel guilty about having so much when others have none or have lost all and what would you do about this guilt?

Why then, if most people would do something to help someone in another country who they do not even know, feel nothing for those that have lost everything or have had to struggle for the meagre things they have within their own community?

Serious answers only pleas.

Thanks.

If life on earth was considered an experiement, with each trial starting with the same amount of natural resouces, and that experiment was run x number of times, would there be a certain period of time where each one of those trials will reach a common plateau? Will it always depend on the intital amount of natural resources?

I was talking with a friend and I asked if all truths could be shared? He then responded with no because then you would be telling secrets. But my question is -- is everything that is unsaid really a secret? I mean maybe no ever thought to ask.

THE QUESTION IS THE ANSWER

thats my own lil revalation

Revelation is an uncovering or disclosure via communication from the divine of something that has been partially or wholly hidden or unknown, "which could not be known apart from the unveiling"

revelation is the process, or act of making divine information known, often through direct ontological realization which transcends the human state and reaches into the divine Intellect

Religion tells people not to do a lot of things because they will be punished in the afterlife. Other people believe that they only live once and want to experience every possible thing before death. What do you believe?
