What is important?

That's the whole question.

My real reason for posting this question: I am trolling for geniuses.

But please, by all means, whoever you are, give this question your best shot. Try it, even if you feel it's impossible to answer it definitively.

There are degrees and there are time considerations to evaluate to answer that question. There is what is important in the short term (I need to pee, I have to buy milk, I have to pay my cable bill) to long term (I need to spend more time with my parents, I need to be more assertive).

There is no simple solution or formula to ascertain what is important. There are simply things and times where events, tasks, and people rise to the top of the list and others when they drop.

Like Ecclesiastes said (I'm not a bible person), "To everything there is a season, and
a time to every purpose."

Importance is based on each individual’s perception and values in life at any given point in that person’s life.

What is important to us when we are teenagers may not be significant later in life.

Something that is unbearable to live without in one culture may mean nothing to someone of another culture. For example: decreasing use of fossil fuel is difficult for many Americans, but Amish people couldn’t care less if our supply ended over night.

Also what is vital to one person may not hold the same momentous value for another person, such as during the Great Depression some stock holders who were suddenly broke jumped out windows to commit suicide where as those who couldn’t afford to buy stock and was already broke just endured the depression.

If one possesses the ability to alter their view when needed or be open minded to accept change that cannot be control then what is important will change throughout life to preserve that person’s sanity and balance with his or her surroundings.

Setting attainable goals is one way to develop wholesome importance’s.

Hello, Weirdboy78
Your question is not difficult to answer. It is very subjective. People have their own beliefs, and they view them as important, but they may mean nothing to me.
"What is important" isn't any different from "What is right? What is wrong?"
You say you're trolling for geniuses. Are you referring to geniuses based on IQ scores only?
In my case I repeatedly scored over 150, yet I do not consider myself a genius by all means.
A few people who do not know me well accuse me of being unable to "relate with common people". They're wrong. My difficulty is relating with people who are stupid. I can take ignorance (you can overcome that to an extent, if you try). Stupidity is a different matter....
So what is important to me?
Knowing myself ( a never-ending journey), family, harmony. It's enough to keep you busy for a lifetime.
What is important to you?
