Not by far. I have not told anybody what I had for breakfast this morning. That doesn't mean it's a secret.

You raise a very interesting question, and
reveal an inquisitive mind.
While one might construe an unrevealed truth to be a secret, it does not follow that any secret must necessarilly be "kept" hidden.
The dialogue with your friend might be revealing of a difference in how gender tend to view deep knowledge. There is in history recorded that some women were involved in mysteries religion, one of which is the cult to Dionysius.
There is also documented a struggle between men and women in the Church to see who would control or liberate knowledge. This is the story of the Gnostics, which later transforms to the story of the male hidden societies such as the Masonic Lodge, the Knights of the White Camelia, and the Ku Klux Klan, the Inquisition of the Catholic Churches of Rome and Spain, or the Hashashins (Assassins) of medieval Syria, the thuggees of India.
While not all secret societies are known to be as brutal as the Ku Klux Klan, there could be some generalized truth to the idea that if knowledge is power, then the keeping of it is the attempt to hold power exclusive, not shared.

Some things are better left unsaid. Like the obvious in so many situations. Or the mundane. If we said everything that flickered though our minds there would be none of that luxurious stuff we know as SILENCE.
If you put two or more people around a table they will probably find something to talk about. but if you take those same people and give them an ADIRONDAK chair facing a tranquil lake they will quiet down. Did they run out of stuff to say? Or do they not feel the need to say it.?

Not everything unsaid is a secret, maybe it has remained unsaid because no one ever asked, or didn't ask the right questions.

I guess it would e considered a secret. Our version of secret is something that you dont "want" to say. But really a secret is something that you are keeping inside of you and not telling people. So if im not telling you what i had for dinner than i am keeping it a secret, because i'm not telling you. My point is, if you dont say it, it is a secret.

No these are not secrets. They are merely unanswered questions humanity has yet to ask. Share them with all, your friend is very closed minded. Watch the movie "What the Bleep do we Know?" and ask around to find the movie "The Secret".

Yes
I guess so.
The things that are always kept unsaid are the truth and the facts. Usually the truth may hurt others' feelings so people need to be quiet about them.

Redefine "secret" as something left unspoken. The reason for this is reasoning, which is more intelligence than a secret.

NO. If it is un-asked, it cannot be a secret. well i guess that is controversal since if you are cheating on someone and your signifcant other never asks, then it is a secret even tho it wasn't asked... so i guess it is yes, but can be no. Very hard question.
