I have always believe that humans have evolved like all life. And believe that life started in the sea and life expanded exponentially from there. But I just now realised that to be an athiest you must either belive that the first forms of life (bacteria) either got to earth by some runoff of an alien civilization, or that it was created naturally by inorganic material. I dont believe that anything living can be created by any mixture of chemicals or minerials. Nor do I think a floating rock with any substance on it could hit the earth and create humans. But a christian god seems too much like something humans would create to cope with existance. I just cant see a god testing his creation and throwing the failures into a pit of fire for eternity? That sound like a human created story because it is a drama and humans have always loved/needed drama. But on the other hand what else could it be. Just some thoughts

The secret is – there is no hell for those who sin.

The sad part – there is no heaven either.

Only see the beginning and the end – timeless and losing friends.

Its all about what you make of it now – no favourites or special treatment – only the assertion of free will.

Who or what is this?

A question based on a certain Chinese philosopher: "Am i really here or am i, a butterfly dreaming to be human?" This philosophical question is the basis of the Matrix films and was given to us for our Philosophy class in the Graduate School. Please share your opinions thanks!

I m turning more and more towards nihilism. As of late, I see both sides of everything, and it makes me realize how transient and relative all is. Man trully is the measure of all things and nothing has fixed meaning/value outside of man.(except for gravity etc) Categories such as good/bad, perfect/imperfect, beautiful/ugly dont exist. I wonder, do You believe in any objective truth and value,( for example, God, but it doesnt have to be God) and what gives you the confidence to believe in it? How do you ignore the argument that religion is perhaps a great evolutionary tactic for group survival, as it ensures that all humans feel the need to believe in a higher, objective power, which guides them and provides a stable system of reward and punishment? Is it possible that everything stems from our fear that we are completely free in an empty universe, without direction? I realize my argument might have many limitations. But can you point them out independently of religion?

i wonder how can you hmans be oh so pathetic? You question things that you yourselves have answers to. you also have not come to realize the hand of doom which hovers above all of you, nor the age of darkness soon to follow.

Looking at the high divorce rates, one has to wonder whether or not human beings are the problem or marriage is the problem.

I'd like examples like..., 'MUSIC is in the middle of the musician and the instrument', or... 'the SUNRISE and the SUNSET is in the middle of night and day' etc... I have thought of this question for many years and would love to hear any new ideas, even just the single word for an answer. I think something in the middle is always what we think is beautiful? I am interested to know your opinion of why this would be too

There is a ton of intelligence/creativity among the people of that area.

Do you think that as Northeast Asia and its people develop economically and socially, it could one day become a world center technological research and innovation?
