I was always told "that is like asking how many angels can dance on the head of a pin, " if I asked an awkward question. Then I saw somewhere a compilation of these actual arguments. I always thought they were chimerical. But, yeah, people really addressed this isssue. Some of the arguments were astounding in the facility of language. Has anyone else seen these?

Well in nihilism...you think the world is pointless. There are no morals or anything like that....I'm just curious if there is a philosophy, with a specific name, that is a counter to that belief.

Ok, so you ever just been lazing around, maybe looking at the sky.
Maybe even just looking at nothing in particular, thinking about things bigger than yourself, when, you get that feeling.

It's like a tingle in your brain. This fleeting sensation of
/everything/ coming together. It's as if for one slight moment, if there was such a thing as enlightenment or true epiphany or whatever, you'd just found it.

I don't know if anyone can really describe this feeling to it's fullest. I'm not even sure how many people have it, but it hurts a great deal to loose it. And it's as if we always do loose it, like we aren't big enough to keep it.

I had this feeling more as a child than I do today, particularly when thinking about the idea of other people. Just the thought that, y'know, are we alone in the world--and if we're not, how is it inside other people?

It's an awfully odd question, yes. But still.
Thanks if anyone's so inclined to answer.

Can someone try to explain to me humankind's inhumanity to one another? What motivates us to kill based on religion, color, race, ethnicity, socio-economic status?

Do you think one day mankind can overcome death?
If yes, why do you think so?
If no, why do you think it will never be possible?

The statement is: "This too shall pass"

Can this be refuted? Doesn't eveything pass away eventually? Looking for ideas. Just curious.

Thanks:))

I noticed a simillar question was posted 3 days ago, but mine is bit different. I am asking for the possibility of the life in the "whole universe", not just our solar system.

I have very little knowledge on the space study, so I may misuse some words. But I am sure you understand what I try to mean.

As you know, there are many, many galexies out there, which could take some billion light years or more to just get to there. We simply can not travel that far, because our technology has not been developed sophisticated enough.

Based on this fact, I think it is natural to imagine that there must be some lives (not the primitive ones like the becteria, etc.), close to the human. They may not have been evolved good enough just like us right now, but who knows if they are having the middle ages of their own right now.

This is what I think. Do you think, or can you give me a fact that there may be a high leved livings like us out there?

Where do you think they possibly be?
