80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

To learn, love, and develop your spirituality. Yes, you do die, but you will never die in spirit. If you have faith, you are never poor. Money is only for paying the bills, it gives you nothing but material things. It is not why you were here, and you do not take it with you after death. So, just try to learn about yourself and others. Do good deeds, live a Christian life, and get close to God.

We're all born to die someday someway somehow. The only saving grace is that Bill Gates/Dubyas/Blairs/(insert rich/famous persons name here) DNA is worth no more than anybody elses and once the game is over we all go back in the same box.

We live so that we may return to God as a spiritual being that is a wiser, kinder, more loving and in all other ways a closer representation of God who made us in his/her image. I am so fortunate because my heart burns for God 24/7. I lived most of my life, frankly, as a doubter. Just like the original 12 disciples and Paul I find now find myself simply unable to deny what I have seen with my own eyes. On December 7th it will be five years since I saw the Holy Mother. I am totally humbled and transformed by the experience! When I asked how is it that I see you? She answered, "All who know me, see me." In more direct response to your question and as the Holy Mother said herself, "Death has no power over those who know and love
God."

Very simply-to live. Choices many, not like ants or bees our brains help make us free,We are so different that other species,We learn to lie when young and our imaginations help us get things done, We can create and dream and yet do terrible things, visit the moon, create sonic boom, save people with our doctors and build lovely homes, greed and money makes people funny and then they kill to get more thrill of power and fame.Unlock the lies that have you trained, learn some truth to get you through, life can be beautiful and its up to you.

Of course we all end up dying.................but the important thing and the "point" of life is what you do in the bit between being born and shuffling off the old mortal coil.
We are all sentient beings with (if you are religious) a God-given opportunity to be in charge, mostly, of our own destiny.
The "point" of life is to fulfil your potential, not to waste your opportunities, to make the best of what are you given, to help your fellow travellers, and (I believe) most of all, to be happy.
We only get one shot at this life (and, knowing my luck, I'll reincarnate as a slug) so enjoy it to the full.

LIfe HAS no point. It is an exercise in futility. At the moment of of deat everything that you do in your live, good or evil, becomes null and void. The BEST that you can do is to find things to distract yourself occasionally while you wait around to die....

The point of life is to leave this world in better condition than when you were born. What I mean is, do your best to always help other people. Love your enemies, and you will never have any. Don't litter! Respect the environment. Always show compassion, and understanding. Be charitable. Don't hold grudges! Be forgiving. Is that enough?

Yes, interseting you mention rich or poor - if wealth is all there is to life, there is truly nothing.
But if we realise that life isn't generally about us but about god, and us representing him here on earth so that other people can get to know more about him, then there comes a point where there is quite a point to life!

Life is part of a longer journey, something our souls need to experience before they move on.
