It bothers me when I see President Bush and some Christian world leaders apologize to Muslims because of the past Christian Crusades against Islam. Few know that Muslims were the first to invade Europe. The Moors conducted slave raids off the coasts of southern Italy and Spain. An estimated 1.5 million white Christians were forcibly taken to North Africa by Moorish pirates. In Eastern Europe, the Tatar (Mongol) Muslims also conducted slave raids in Russia, Ukraine and Poland. Slavic white peasants were enslaved by Tatar/Mongol Muslim horsemen and taken to the slave markets of Istanbul where the Tatar/Mongols sold Slavic people to Turks. So many Slavic people were captured that even today, the term "slave" derived from Slavs. Forced race mixing occured as this result. The Moors went from black to white and the Tatars/Turks went from yellow to white. The goal of the raids was to abduct young white women and attack Christiandom. Where is the apology for that?

Okay, so I'm writing an essay on the impact of history of the Civil war on the South.

I need two good resources and the ones I'm finding (via google) are total junk.

Anyone know of a GOOD reenactment site with a history section in it. Or a GOOD SCV or DCV site that has a "Why we are here today" kind of thing?

SCV = Sons of Confederate Veterans
DCV = Daughters of Confederate Veterans.

I know this sounds crazy but, I really am curious. I mean like there weren't any pads or anything back then so, what were they doing holding a gravy bowl underneath all that cloth.

Your comments please and as added fuel to the discussion, some think that Soloman actually mentions it in the Bible. In 1 Kings 9:27-28 and chapter 10 and 22 and more in other books of the Bible.

I was reading about some of the great empires of the past from Egypt, Babalonian, Persian, Greek, Macedonian, and Roman. They all seem to have an influance, even today. Maybe the Roman empire has the greatest.

Why is a Native American called American Indian if they have no loyalty from or for India? I don't get it, SAT and ACT are using that term but it doesn't aptly apply. What is an African American since Africa is not a country? We have Irish American, from Ireland, Italian American from Italy, German American from Germany and Japanese American from Japan. What about Alaskan Indian? Why do we accept this? And why now?

up around the USA. When they appare at first at least to have cacasion characteristics. However the "Native Americans" are saying that they are positive that those bones are their ancesters. I ask another question on here about the old world knowing about the new world and then forgetting about it long enough for it to have to be rediscovered. One person said that "native americans" were to primitive to know if bones in clift were white or some other color. So if those bones are to ancient for them to know about why do they have the right to claim other bones as being theirs but can't not claim or know the bones in the clift are not theirs.
to restate the story in the other question In a book called
White Woman of Ganeese Co. A white girl was raised by Indians in the South somewhere (Ganeese Co) and lived with them the most of her life once she was passing a clift with a group of other women and was told by them that the bones that were visiable in the clift were whiteman's bones.
