17 stopped at 19, walked into the 1981 rolling stones "(first farewell concert) at the Hampton collusium, and as I stood in the crowd, and they where all wound up, and the music was sounding very loud, but bad, I just didn't want to be there, I lost something there but I have never had a desire to go to any concert since, I don't like mob mentality I guess, everyone saying it;s was sooooo great, when in fact it sounded like crap, really, Mick was screaming, but the music was out of synch, and the sound system was muffled and unclear, I was disappointed , like all the past ones had been., I wasn't into the concert scene I guess, it' more of a social event than a music enjoyment event I think, I thought the crowds where moronic acting and out of control. SO I left after not even 10 minutes, I still like the Stones, but not in concert.

I should add that where I grew up we had neighborhood gatherings once or twice a month where everyone would bring instruments, play and sing. At times there would be 40 or 50 people not counting small children. These I attended from the time that I was old enough for my parents to take me about age 1.

That is a form of concert, but I suspect that this isn't the type of concert that you are asking about.

I went to my first concert when I was 8. It was the Rolling Stones in San Francisco. I doubt my parents would have approved, had they known...

With parental permission I went to my first concert when I was 12. It was Neil Young and Steven Stills at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley.
