We never seem to learn from our mistakes. we say things like , we must make sure something like this never happens again, and as sure as christ the very next day, or week, or year, it happens again. If we never learn from history why the hell do we teach it in our schools, People like Hitler,Mussolini, &Stalin are held up more like heroes than tyrants of the twentieth century. would it not be better for humanity if we forgot all these people and the unpleasantness they have inflicted on humanity and get on with the things we know to be right and just, instead of giving our up and coming tyrants of the 21st century, like Mugabie, something to top?.

I was wondering who you thought were the worst historians? To me Anne Coulter's attempt at disproving the cold war is funny. I was wondering if anyone else thought there was a historian that was full of it out there

If the pharaoh Hatshepsut was removed from history, then how do they know she ever existed. They say that her half-son ordered her to be erased, but if he did then all official records would have been erased. Her monuments and her tomb were hidden and all mention of her was carved out. So how do they know that she was a good ruler or that she ever ruled at all?

I hear a lot of stories that the Western Allies won the land war in Europe in World War II by using their numerical superiority (i.e. four Shermans to knock out one Panther?). What about one-on-one combat? Were there any variants of the Sherman or the British infantry tanks capable of holding up against any of the German Panthers, Tiger I or Tiger II in one-on-one combat?
