I mean, Pearl Harbor was a strategic blunder, but invading the U.S.? That would have been suicide. I read that they had plans of invading Mexico and moving up along the coast to California. How could this have possibly been seen as a good idea by the Japanese, if this is even true?

Ideally, I would like someone who did great work with charity, and that came from a less priviledged lifestyle. Thanks!

White people continue to argue well hey i did not own any slaves only my ancestors, therefore blacks don't deserve reparations. Well if thats the case then whats the reason for African American to be denied the 40 acres and a mule they were promised when they were the actual ones who were slaves back then. Thats because this capitalistic society is built off of slave labour and to give the working class of people reperations would totally go against this country's nature and economy. This reperations question is a class question. Free labour is how white americans achieved their status. ifree labour that made us wealthy in the first place. No I was never beaten or lenched ( well beaten by the police for no reason) but the wealth of this nation is built off of slavery. Our current business structure has an owner who makes a fortune and workers who make 7.00 dollars an hour. The slave plantation had an owner and a bunch of slaves who worked invented the cottin gin and sugar refiners.

I understand that friday the 13th is a "black friday", and I also understand the day after friday can also be considered "Black firday" and a few other days. I just want to trace back the unlucky "13". Someone once told me it was because of a racist reaction to the thirtenth amendment. Supposidly there were many racist acts on friday the 13th in rebelion. I'm looking to possibly trace back the unlucky 13th before the the slave era. I'm not looking for myths or ledgens, but facts in history. Thank you!

Christian Germans to be specific. Wasn't he beneficil for his own people? Didn't he brainwash them by giving them food and employment?

I came across this new Item today in Yahoo. This comic series was first published in 1931, and one of the books in the series depicts Africans as simple minded and ape-like.

A row was caused when customers complained about the racist content and had the book pulled from the children’s section.

My opinion:

I do not believe that racist material should be displayed in the children’s section of bookstores. I do not think that such books should be banned, however. We have a history of racism and colonialism that should not be swept under the rug.

There are a lot of examples of history being sugar coated;

*There was the outcry over the Japanese high school history texts glossing over the atrocities committed in China.

*I fly model airplanes, and about ten years ago, model manufactures stopped including swastikas in the decals sets for scale models of German aircraft of WWII.

*I reviewed a question in this very forum that revealed that many young Americans do not know that George Washington and Thomas Jefferson owned slaves.

There is an old saying that those that forget history are doomed to repeat it. If we look at the history of the last 4000 years, there has been a lot of forgetting.

Postulate that we are Building a Monument to Humanity on the Moon, to Outlast and give Testiment to Who we were, as a Global Community. It can't be Torn Down, Vandalized, or Destroyed in a War, but Could be Added to. Once Added, the Personage could Not be Removed.
To be Included, the Person must have been Alive, and their Contributions Non-Fictional.
They must have had a Lasting Effect on History, thus a Contemorary Newsmaker would not yet have had the Test of Time. Leaders, Philosophers, Composers, Scientists, are Equal here.
Their Contributions could be Good or Bad.

We are going to Add some "Givens" to Begin with, and Save Space:
Religeon Founders/Elders like Jesus, Moses, Mohammed, Budda, (forgive me if I left out your Favorites) have had an Obvious, Far Reaching Effect(even if you don't Believe), and will Already be Included. We'll include Adam and Eve for Completeness.

WHO would you Enshrine and Why? What History would you want Never to be Forgotten?

I think it would be pretty interesting if anyone was willing to share "heroic" stories of any relatives who fought in the Second World War or anywhere else.

Does anyone have any such stories?

With so many different stories floating around this HUGE legend, and as a Templar enthusiast myself, I'm curious to see what other people think of this controversial mystery. What exactly do you believe the Holy Grail to be? Where do you think it is hidden?
