The infamous Saer Offensive by the French during the 'phony war' period of WWII. Poland invaded a German radio station prior to hostilities...or so Goebbels would have us believe........

Other than by existing, no. The grievances go back to the end of WWI: the loss of the German border provinces to France (which the Germans and French had been fighting over for ages) and the loss of the German Baltic areas including Danzig and East Prussia. Still, in the end, it was the German leadership that decided to attack, and the reasons were essentially based on national pride and resentment.
As for the Allies being the 'good guys' - depends entirely how you define the term.

The Nazis (SS I believe) did stage an incident at the German/Polish border to make it seem as if Poland had attacked. This was a sham and only used as a flimsy pretext for war, so NO Poland did not provoke Germany.
France declared war on Germany after they invaded Poland, so, in a way, you could say they did provike Germany. That said, Germany attacked France at time of her choosing rather than respondiong to a French attack.

Hello,
In a way. Germany lost some of her territory to France and Poland as part of the reparations and punishment for WW1.
Her former territories had quite a few ethnic Germans living there... especially Alsace Lorraine initially taken from France in the Franco-Prussian War which was rich in iron ore.
The heavy penalties put on Germany in the Versailles settlement from her lost territories to a 33 billion dollar reparation payment that would not have been payed off until 2012, helped sow the seeds for the rise of nazism and hence her aggression. Any historian will tell you that the most significant result of this settlement was WWII.

The French occupation of thje Ruhr district occurred in 1923 (and ended in 1925), and was connected to Germany's failure to pay reparations for their aggression in the first world war. Britain supported Germany in this dispute, and France withdrew without ever getting paid. WWII was years later. The French occupation no doubt contributed to prewar anti-French sentiment in Germany. If you see it as justification for German aggression against Frtance, that is not a widely-held point of view, though you are certainly entitled to it.
Poland was the target of Operation Himmler, a Nazi project to create the appearance of Polish aggression against Germany, to justify the invasion of Poland. Attacks staged by Nazis were attributed to the Poles; this disinformation project is frequently cited by 9/11 conspiracy theorists as a 'model' for Bush/Rove's alleged attack on the WTC.

Germany and France had a long history of warfare over the border regions as Germany and the Polish regions.
In WWII it was Germany that was the antagonist.
