If the pharaoh Hatshepsut was removed from history, then how do they know she ever existed. They say that her half-son ordered her to be erased, but if he did then all official records would have been erased. Her monuments and her tomb were hidden and all mention of her was carved out. So how do they know that she was a good ruler or that she ever ruled at all?

Well, if the Egyptians held to their beliefs about the after life, her tomb itself would have been undisturbed when other aspects of her were erased. So if they since found the tomb, anything that was in it would have been from before her official erasure. Also, erasing a figure as important as a Pharoah from history is no small task. There would have been other records that would have referred to her, or her time. The very order to erase her would probably have been recorded somewhere.

Not every record was found and destroyed by her step son (if it was indeed him who carried out it out). Her loyal priests and others would have saved what they could, just as they hid her daughters's tomb from prying eyes....and other things. What an interesting documentary!
