I was reading The Lexus and the Olive Tree when I came upon this sentence.

While in Chicago, he was assigned a car by the Dukakis campaign staff that had - are you sitting down? - a phone in it.

What exactly do the words, are you sitting down, mean in this context?

If I don't know many Masons very well? How can I broach the subject or can I put myself forward without recommendation? Any sensible advice from Freemasons would be gratefully received.

The DNA testing was not reliable, how could they know for sure that it was Anna's tissue it could have been someone elses because they supposedly "found" it 10 years after her death and also the hair could have been cut from that missing Poland girl's relatives.

How could Anna not be Anastasia, she looks exactly like her. Even the tests that she was given that only Anastasia could have known she passed with flying colors. And ofcourse she's going to have hard time remembering some things, she went through a terrifying trauma for crying out loud she witnessed her family being killed! If I went through that I would probably end up psychotic and not talk anymore. And why were the Red guards looking for Anastasia in homes after they killed the family?

If she was really Anastasia it must have been so sad to be rejected by some of her relatives and by most of the world. What do you think?

I believe you could call the British involvement with Iran, "Indirect rule". From what I can remember off the top of my head is they establish BP there and put the Shah as a puppet ruler , that is before the Iranian Revolution exiled him. I guess my question is did the British really lose out of their influence in "Iran" at that point? Who financially support the Khomeni fella? Was he not educated in France and left from there to take over power in Iran in 1979? Seems strange, for a wester power france to kind of aid him like they did.
Anybody can tell me basically the history of British power in Persia , how it was come about and how it got its "independance" (kind of)?

This new president they have is the new "boogey man"? where did he come from? who hired him?
