During history class in high school years ago (late 60"s-early 70's) we were told of a strategy the US used to ALTER the weather for a very important battle...not sure which battle it was...and after the war the US PROMISED never to do this again during war. Does anyone know what I am talking about and if you do what is the concept for this "change" in weather and if it can be done, why do we not do it when we have droughts? If it can and has been done, does it drastically change the weather months and years after for the worst? I have been on every search I can think of to check this out, but have been unable to find this information. I would greatly appreciate any feedback on this and any website I might be able to go to learn more on this. Thanks very much.

I NEED INFO ON THE ARCHITECTURE MORE THAT WAT I HAV GOTTEN. Here is wat i got from some1 else....Most building constrution was done based on architectural plans, although the engineering stand points, also performed by the chief architect, was more or less guess work.

Few, if any, people had chimneys until the later middle ages.

Glass was a luxury item which was rarely ever used outside of Cathedrals and the palaces of the wealthy.

Romanesque Churches have one massive support in the crypt which represents Christ as the churches foundation.

Churches typically had the alter on the east side of the church, facing away from the devil, who was said to live in the west, and by facing east the congregation would all face the direction from which Christ was said to arrive from during his second coming.

Confederate or Union? And why? Don't just keep your answers on the topic of slavery, even though that is important and I want to hear about that as well. Also, tell me your thoughts on whether the states had a right to secede or not. Girls... would you have been satisfied to sit at home and darn socks and make quilts for your soldiers, or would you have been tempted to disguise yourself as a guy and join up with the army? Guys, would you have the guts to fight for what you truly believe is right?

I had long thought Florence Nightingale was a sweet lady who assumed the role of a nurse to attend to the sick and needy.

I also thought she was only a subordinate working in some hospital in London.

I recently found out she was related to the "Charge of the Light Brigade". How could this be so? I thought "Charge of the Light Brigade" was only poetry!

We refer to the dates now as 350 B.C. (But that date -before the death of Christ - is in reference to an event that had not occurred at that time.) How did they refer to dates on a yearly basis if at all?
