Hi there. Here is something I have been using to answers the questions on slavery.
What I can not understand if the Afro-Americans here in the States are so anti-slavery why aren't they and you fighting slavery in the modern world? Is it all right to complain about what happened a 140 years ago but you won't take any steps to prevent from happening today?
You say you didn't know about modern slavery? Well, now you do, anyone who has had such an issue with slavery as the Afro-Americans should be studying the issue and organizing bans, boycotts and marches. Lets' start with the number two (2) area that being Chocolate, you should ensure that your family, friends and school boycott Chocolate that means candy, ice cream and hot chocolate, etc. The big companies have the power to make sure the Egyptians and others quit using slaves to gather the Coca Beans.
The number one (1) area is the sex trade, videos, prostitution and children. You cannot do much there but you could ensure the issue becomes publicized.
Number three (3) is Coffee and you should do the same thing as you should do with chocolate.
Number four (4) is drugs and it is even worse with this area (I believe they should be legalized; it worked in the Netherlands and would be a God sent to the Country) is that the profits are used to kill us.
Yes, I am against slavery are you? God Bless You and The Southern People.

Everyone I have challenged (including the many Afro-Americans) never take up the challenge, not so much as a petition or quitting their favorite chocolate candy bar. They can complain about what happened here; they claim it led to the War of Northern Aggression, but no one can give up anything or take a stand. May-be you can earn extra credit by challenging your teacher, class or school? Good Luck. God Bless You and The Southern People.

The officially correct answer is No, it does not exist.
However, there are some 3rd world countries that still practice forms of slavery - between religious sects, tribes, etc. Plus, there is always the child labor issues in different contries.
The basics of slavery still exist. "Slavery refers to involuntary subjection to another or others. Slavery emphasizes the idea of complete ownership and control by a master."(1) The basics being unwanted subjection to the will and control of another. Sounds like the common workplace, doesn't it? If you are a teenager, slavery exists in the form of parents. As adults, it could be your boss or the government. And if you are part of a gang, you are subjected it's collective will.
The basics of slavery still and will always exist, just under different names.

Slavery does exist today, in many countries in Africa and Asia. Most of it doesn't look like the plantation slavery of the antebellum South in America, though some of that does exist, especially on cocoa plantations in Africa. Slavery today often consists of women or children sold into slavery as domestic servants or for prostitution.

Yes, it is now called white slavery. People and young teens are sold from other countries and brought here to the usa to sweat houses or they are put into prostitution.

In other countries it does still exist. Thousands of missing children in the United States are being shipped to other countries and sold as "sex slaves". I believe that the sex slave trade goes on right here in our great country.

In my opinion, I believe for the most part no, slaves don't still exist.
In the u.s it shouldn't occur although it does sometimes does. I think when companies build factories in other countries and then they work the people like Mexicans or Chinese people( no offence to any ethnicity's) to death!

I think it does, in 3rd wolr countries. Example take Colombia, in the Cocaine factories, there are tons of slaves there, they just take people from the street like prostitutes or drug addicts and slave them to work. They only feed them, some of course are paid but a lot are not.

Of course it does, just no one acknowledges it by slavery anymore.. They call it hiring a Mexican...
I am assuming you want someone to work for you, well how bout you get out there and do your own work or if you hire someone pay them what you would want to be paid. Nobody owes you anything.

Yes, in each and every country. To be frank, it's everywhere in the world, eg., wife is a slave of her husband in some families, children are slaves of theirs' parents in somewhere, etc.
