The Ashkenazi Jews migrated from Germany to the area of Belarus and its capital, Minsk. In the 1920's the Jews had been in Minsk for hundreds of years. Did the Jews retain their yiddish/german/jewish culture? Or did the Russian culture take over? Are the Jews of Minsk more related to Germans or Russians? Did the Jews speak yiddish and russian? or just yiddish? or just russian?

I need a topic to do a 15-page research paper on. It has to be from European history, and has to have happened at least 50 years. I am interested in something to do with science from early 1800s onward and has to be relatively specific, but not too specific. It can also be something like the Bolshevik revolution or Hitler's Germany or something, just please not anything to do with painting/scuplture/art!

I have to have an analytical research question. For example, a topic could be, in what ways did [insert name of one of Chopin's masterpieces] influence nationalism in [insert place]?

PLEASE!! Anything helps!! If you have the slightest idea, please tell!!

Someone in another topic mentioned that a list of the "new" seven wonders of the world is being made. This got me wondering what people on here thought should be on the list.

My suggestions:
1. Acropolis
2. Christ the Redeemer statue
3. Easter Island
4. Taj Mahal
5. Hagia Sophia
6. Statue of Liberty
7. Kremlin

Rumour has it that Alexander Graham Bell was Canadian making one of greatest inventions of all time contributed by Canada. Americans, The U.S, rumour has it that he is American..Controversy surrounds this. He was in fact to my knowledge, European, Immigrated to Canada where he obtained citizenship there and then went on to the U.S to invent the phone. In your opinion given this story or your own knowledge was he American or Canadian? Canada as well has a big Phone company called Bell Canada where the U.S only has a smaller company called Bell South.
