The first taste of alcohol probably came the first time a human ate some fermented fruit. Now brewing or distilling alcohol is probably a more recent development. Egypt has been brewing beer since 5,000 B. C.

From the very beginning. Even if you don't take the story of Noah literally, after the flood was over and the water receded, you know what Noah did? He became a wine-maker! So, that shows you, if making alcohol isn't the world's oldest profession, it's been around for a long, long time.

As young children my brother and I were served champagne on New Years Eve, our parent's anniversary, and sometimes Thanksgiving.
We drank sneakily at a wedding at the ages of about 12 and 9.
We actually went out and drank with other kids at about 14, before the school dances.

At least 9,000 years ago.
Pretty easy to leave a container with some sugary, watery substance in it, forget about it, and attract some yeast... then drink the fermented beverage.

monkeys and birds eat rotten fruit -- people have been eating stuff like this for countless years. Even Egypt brewed their own beer.

Fermentation is a natural process that probably pre-dates human kind! So: since homo sapiens has existed, probably!
