I thought the movie was very well done. The historical bits included surprised me some. It was something certainly a bit more educating than recent films.

We're just about to start the year 2007 (ok 2008 strictly speaking I suppose!), but when was the present 'years after Christ was born' format (e.g 1999/2000/2007 etc) first used, and when did it become the international 'standard'?

One of the greatest and mightest"ADOLF HITLER"
one and only one mistake he did was the invasion into Russia(in winter)otherwise we all would be talking german and would be nazies
From the first day that Adolf Hitler "seized power," January 30, 1933, he knew that only sudden death awaited him if he failed to restore pride and empire to post Versailles Germany. His close friend and adjutant Julius Schaub recorded Hitler's jubilant boast to his staff on that evening, as the last celebrating guests left the Berlin Chancellery building: "No power on earth will get me out of this building alive!"

Adolf Hitler, murderer of millions, master of destruction and organized insanity, did not come into the world as a monster. He was not sent to earth by the devil, nor was he sent by heaven to "bring order" to Germany, to give the country the autobahn and rescue it from its economic crisis
REVENGE WAS THE MOTIVE

for me....
5. Haren warren and calvin coolidge (tie)
drunk bastards who did nothing except party and could not control our excess credit spending in the 1920s, which in part led to the gp in 1927.
4. Woodrow Wilson : i kn now that ppl are gonna jump at me for this BUT he didnot pursue/convince americans enough to join the league of nations. Thats may have prevented Hitler from getting too much power.
3. Hoover Herbert: enough said.
2. Richard Nixon: two words tricky d!ck. Again enough said.
1. Lyndon B. Johnson for trying to block the civil rights legislative. For lying to the congress and getting involved in the vietnam war.

I had no choice about seeing the opening scenes of Passions on NBC today because I'm visiting a friend who insists on watching it, and I saw a dead body fall out of a wedding cake?!?! Is this the lowest moment in soap opera history? Sam just said, "Let's hope she wasn't baked to death." I mean really now, but this is over the top.

I was reading a story where one of the character's references a time in history when in WWII the german and allied soldiers laid down their weapons and had a snowball fight for Christmas day. The next day they continued their fight. Is this true and could someone direct me to a valid reference where I can read it for myself?
