I have to research about the renaissance period as my holiday assignment so can you please help me with it? I'm totally clueless about the renaissance period.

NOTE: I'm asking you to help me by providing me some useful websites or telling me more about the renaissance period ( history etc) not ordering you to do my homework.

I just want to know more about the history of the renaissance period, why is it important to us now, some famous authors, novelists, playwrights, poets of the renaissance period.

THANKS.

The roman general Terantius Varro could have used his reservs (principes or triarii) to protect the rear from the numidian cavalry assault rather than engaging them into that dreadful, full scale frontal atack on Hannibal's infantry.
