I've been told that 'Kilfeather' is anglicised for something simmilar sounding in Gaelic and 'Marren' is actually a native English name planted in Sligo with the Elizabethans. I could be wrong. Does anyone have any additional info on this?

It was an English name that had a coat of arms. the name died out. A cherokee or Creek indian baby was left on white peoples doorstep during the civil war. The white people took him in and named him Charlie Woods.when he was of legal age he changed his last name to Bankester. so my dad thinks all living Bankesters are related since it was a name that died out previously.

John was supposedly married to a Cherokee woman, possibly from Tennessee; also he had two wives, but as neither has her name listed, it is probably that both were Indian. His children claimed to be Indian.

Most of the other women hung during the Salem Witch Trials were exonerated 10 years later. But Susanna Martin was not, I can't even find a survivor of hers that was compensated. She was not from Salem Town (she was from Amesbury). She was accused by the Salem girls (namely Ann Putnum and Abigail Williams). I've found lots of infromation on her trial and the accusations against her, but have not found anything regarding restitution.

Could you suggest some places to research this?

I want to hear stories of Grandparents coming to the U.S. Or stories of you tracing your family tree, and what you have found from tracing your roots. For example, famous people, not from now, but those who helped to build the U.S.
