Can anyone out there with the surname "Virgill" tell me where the name originated? I found out recently my grandmother's name was Elizabeth Virgill. Oh and let me know where in the world you are just so I can see how far and wide this name reaches. Thanx all!!

Hey Diva,

I think you will find the roots of this name in England. See the 38 people found in Family Search, the name is not very far and wide.

I would trace the migration to America via Ships Manifests too. None found in Ellis Island. And no Genforums entries either.

I put a few discoveries on the bottom sites, some good information. Also, you could check into Family DNA studies to see how you are related to others.
