I'm starting to read the book and realize that certain parts of it seems to be written by an slave or in a slaves point of view. Was the author a slave or a plantation worker? What is your personal opinion of the novel, and if you were reading it for an Lit class what would you advise other students to look for in the novel to describe the authors charecter? Thanks.

I was wondering if they actually went and made the book Twilight into a graphic novel. My only details are that you can find a picture of one of the pages on photobucket (type in 'Edward Cullen'). Does anybody know for sure?

this is probably going to seem like a stupid question to a lot of you but i was wondering, in book 2 (chamber of secrets) ron says the house-elves are commonly found in the homes of "rich" wizard families, yet in book 4, we find out that house elves are not paid for their services? what's up with that?

I'm going on a 4-month backpacking trip in India. Trying to find some good books to read - I don't mean travel guides or anything, I mean fiction / biography that's easy & fascinating to read on the road.
Any suggestions?

heres the first one

Running
by Leah B, 10
I run out the door, my cheeks stained with tears
the rain coming down hard, covering my body like a blanket
my bare feet hit the wet, unforgiving pavement
i run away from the familiar places, the familiar places i have known for so long
I run

The Breakup

I say hi
you say hi
i say why
you say bye
i say bye
and then i cry

You are here

You are here but also up above
You are here, next to me
you are here saying my name softly, like a birds song
you are here saying you love me
i try to touch you, but all i feel is cold air on my trembeling fingers
But you are here
You are here

I need to find a poem from the 17th century (1600s), or the very early 1700s (only up to about 1713).
I'm writing a book, and wanted to add a poem in with it. I want something about either a loss of parents, anger, finally finding content or peace, or going to sail.
Can anyone help me?
