She loves to read a lot of stuff. She devoured The Series of Unfortunate Events and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and loves them both. She doesn't have anything to read now so if you want to suggest a few books please do!! Thanks.

Where do I start? If she hasn't ready Harry Potter, get her into them.
Eragon and Eldest by Christopher Paoline was really good. It might take her longer, but they'll keep her really entertained.
Inkheart and Inkspell by Cornelia Funke I just recommended for a thirteen year old at my school before christmas, and while its taking her a little while to complete them, Chantelle asked for them for christmas...
Beyond the Veil of Thorns series by Patrick Carman was good, but Chantelle pollished them off in no time...
The Keys to the Kingdom series by Garth Nix was really good, starting off with Mister Moday and going all the way to Sir Thursday (Friday, Saturday and Sunday have yet to be completed.)
The Pendragon Series by D.J. MacHale is also very good, starting with the Merchant of Death and going to the Quillian Games.
Children of the Lamp: The Akhenaten Adventure by P.B. Kerr is really good, and if she likes that one, she can go onto the second one, Children of the Lamp: The Blue Djinn of Babylon.
Septimus Heap: Magyk and Septimus Heap: Flyte by Angie Sage.
The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud.
The Merlin Effect by T.A. Barron.
And last but not least, anything by Lurlene McDaniel.

Happy Reading!

James Patterson has a series of young adult books that are great. They are the Maximum Flight series. Also, what about the Ya-Ya sisterhood books? I don't remember them having extremely adult content and the theme is similar to the Traveling Pants.

I-800-Where R U Series. It is great. its written by Meg Cabot. But not her average girly book. Its good. Adventorous and hilarious. great for an eighth grader.

Catcher in the Rye was good too.
And Breathing Underwater
And Dreamland By Sarah Dessen
But if she's used to Snicket. She should read 1-800- Series. cuz, the other ones i mentioned are a big jump from snicket. thats like dr.seuss, then a sophisticated novel. a big difference.
