I need to find a poem from the 17th century (1600s), or the very early 1700s (only up to about 1713).
I'm writing a book, and wanted to add a poem in with it. I want something about either a loss of parents, anger, finally finding content or peace, or going to sail.
Can anyone help me?

A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning by Donne is exactly what you're looking for.

It's about lovers being apart, yet still remaining close (and includes one of Donne's most famous conceits, the compass).

I agree about A Valediction Forbidding Mourning. To that I would add "Love" (2) by George Herbert; it's about finding spiritual peace.

Try "The Flea" od "Divine Meditation XIV" by John Donne.
