I currently have about 5 people and am waiting on a couple more. So do you have the meetings once a month? Is that enough time for everyone to read the book -- I mean we do all have jobs. And then I guess we take turns hosting it? How do we decide who hosts and when? Anyone who ever started one up and has any advise, I'd appreciate it. What did you do that didn't work and what did you do that did?

Also, being that we're just getting started and we don't know who has read what, I thought we should start with a newly released book? Any suggestions on good newly released books?

Formulate a character based solely on this picture. I'm interested in thorough, detailed answers...life history, status, habits, quirks, personality, etc., and a brief storyline. The most detailed answer will be the best answer.

Thanks!

I am just curious as I wonder if using someone else's work, as inspiration, and rewriting it in your own words is plaguraism. What does the law say?

It's been a while since I read a book that blew me away. What book have you read that you just could not put down? A book that you felt the need to tell everyone about?

I just finished reading it for the first time at the age of 31. I'm curious to know other people's opinion of the book. Do you think it is overrated? Do you think it deserves great praise? Did it have any profound effects on you when you read it the first time? Did it bore you to pieces? Or any other opinion you'd like to share.

When I was young I was bought some books written by a young girl and the stories were about vegetables. They had eyes, hands, mouths etc etc and there were a series of them.

Does anyone remember who the author was or what the series of books were called?

I remember reading a book when I was a kid and I really want to buy it again, but can't remember what it was called.

It was a bout a group of dolls who lived in a doll house, but the girl who owned them got a brand new one and the old house was put behind her bedroom door and all but forgotten about. The old dolls were a bit shabby and used to stitch each others clothes. The new dolls were snobby and used to look down on the old dolls because they took fun in dancing and singing. Then the new dolls came down with a fever and the old dolls saved their lives by using mustard patches. I think one of the old (male) dolls was in love with one of the new (female) dolls and they ended up being happy together.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - I'm pretty sure this book wasn't Enid Blyton. Thanks :-)

My sister and I remember a book from our childhood that I'd like to find and read to my daughter now...but we can't remember what it was called or who wrote it!

It was about a polar bear who had polka dots on him and the dots would change colors...anyone have any ideas as to what I'm talking about? It kind of seems like it MIGHT have been a Dr. Seuss type book, but I can't be too sure. It seemed like it was a popular/well-known children's book though.

And the second book is one I read as a child that may not have been so well-known...it was about a maiden who lived in a magical place, and her home was made out of peach-colored crystal...she had long golden hair and she fell in love with a prince, but felt she couldn't have him...so some lady or whoever advised her to weave three strands of hair into a blanket for this prince, etc, etc...and they fell in love and lived happily ever after, of course. I really liked the book as a child.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

I think that there is a great chance of JKR making Harry die in the end. *frowns* Let's hope not. The poor kid needs a freaking break!

I also think that there's a good chance that Peter will betray Voldemort and repay Harry for his betrayal on his parents.

Hermione and Ron will get together. (Although if it was up to me she would end up with Draco. But that's just the fanon in me. Draco/Hermione will always be my OTP)

And I am hoping...that if Harry does make it alright in the end...he ends up with Luna rather than with Ginny!
