I remember reading a book when I was a kid and I really want to buy it again, but can't remember what it was called.

It was a bout a group of dolls who lived in a doll house, but the girl who owned them got a brand new one and the old house was put behind her bedroom door and all but forgotten about. The old dolls were a bit shabby and used to stitch each others clothes. The new dolls were snobby and used to look down on the old dolls because they took fun in dancing and singing. Then the new dolls came down with a fever and the old dolls saved their lives by using mustard patches. I think one of the old (male) dolls was in love with one of the new (female) dolls and they ended up being happy together.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - I'm pretty sure this book wasn't Enid Blyton. Thanks :-)

"Racketty-Packetty House" by Frances Hodgson Burnett is about a little girl who gets a new dollhouse for her birthday and the old dollhouse is taken away and put behind a door. The old dolls are neglected, their clothing becomes raggedy and they watch the newer dolls give parties and entertain.

I have not read that but it sounds like a nice story. I hope someone can help you. If my sister calls by my house today I will ask her in case she read it.
