I'm in high school, and I absolutely love writing. I feel I have talent in English, and I especially enjoy creative writing. I've already started writing down different ideas for a future novel with a group of consistent characters. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could one day pursue a career as an author? I'm a ravenous reader. Non-fiction, fiction of nearly every genre (I don't read romance). I've gone through the "classics", loved some hated others. (I'll still never understand fans of Catcher in the Rye!)

I know about double day, mystery guild, OPB, & the literary guild, i have received books from them without paying by credit card, instead i was sent a bill with my books.

Does anyone know of any other sites that still have "bill me later"? I was going to double day and literary guild but they dont have the 'bill me later' anymore.

Do I have a better chance publishing with Publish America (they have accepted my book and sent the contract)- I realize they are a company who only lists the book on their website and you have to go out and get book stores to buy your book.- or do I have a better chance with lulu.com... can I go to book stores and ask them to buy my book from the site?

My teacher demands that all book reports be written in past tense. But it makes some sentences sound ridiculous.

A man and a woman want to buy eachother a Christmas gift but they have no money. The woman sells her hair to buy a chain for the man's watch and the man sells his watch to buy a comb for the woman's hair.
